How to Host a DragonPod

A simple guide to igniting the DragonHeart Quest together. Light the match.

A DragonPod is a short gathering where people begin the DragonHeart Quest together. They will begin, but not complete, the Quest during the Pod.

They create something small and brave.
They deliver it within 48 hours.
They submit it after delivery so it counts toward the 10,000 DragonHearts.

Your job as Host is simple:

Create a space.
Spark the courage.
Make the next step obvious.

That’s it. You're not teaching or running a workshop.

You are opening a portal for simple, real-world courage.

What Happens at a DragonPod?

During the Pod, participants:

  • Learn what the DragonHeart Quest is
  • Design a micro-creation
  • Commit to delivering it within 48 hours
  • Leave with the simple completion instructions

Completion only happens after they deliver their creation and submit the Quest form at DragonHeartQuest.com.

That submission is how we count toward 10,000 and add them to the Dragon Wall (if they choose to be listed).

How Long Does It Take?

Online Pod: 30 Minutes

In Person Pod: 45 - 60 Minutes

Materials Needed

Required:

  • Phone, tablet, or computer with internet access
  • DragonHeart Quest link or QR code
  • Questers need to bring something to create with. It can be as simple as paper and a pen, or they can bring their favorite art supplies.

Optional:

  • Printed completion instruction cards
  • Printed QR code cards
  • A visible timer

Keep it simple. Your attendees use whatever tools they already have.

Invite Your Guests (Sample Invitation)

Choose a date and location (either in person or online) for your DragonHeart Pod.

You may modify the following invitation to invite people to take the Quest with you.

Subject: You're invited to a DragonPod - make art with friends.

Hi,

I’m hosting a DragonPod and I’d love for you to join.

We’ll be taking part in the DragonHeart Quest, a simple real-world experiment to ignite 10,000 moments of unexpected joy by April 12th.

During our time together, you’ll design a small micro-creation to give to someone who isn’t expecting it. The Quest is completed once you deliver it.

This is not a workshop or performance. It’s a short, focused space to create something small and brave.

What to bring:

* Paper and pen (minimum)
* Any art supplies you’d like to use (optional)
* A phone or device to view the Quest instructions online

If you’re curious about what happens when you share a micro-act of creation, just because it brings delight, come join us.

Let me know if you’ll be there.

Warmly,

How to Explain the Quest (Simple Script)

You can read this:

“The DragonHeart Quest is a simple, real world experiment to discover what happens when we share 10,000 moments of unexpected joy through our creations.

The DragonHeart Quest begins here, but it completes when you give your micro-creation to someone who is not expecting it.

Today, you’ll design something small but real. It could be a message, a dance, a poem, a piece of art, a song.

After this gathering, you will deliver it. Then you’ll submit your Quest to the website so it counts toward unlocking our collective milestones.”

Design the Micro-Creation (At the Event)

Invite your guests to use whatever materials they've brought with them, or the ones you've provided, to create something in about 10 minutes. You can set a timer if you wish.

Encourage them to follow the spark of inspiration and delight. Let it be imperfect, free and fun.

Instructions to Give Participants (Print or Read)

You can read the instructions below or print this Canva template and give it to them.

Your Next Steps

  1. Deliver your micro creation to someone who is not expecting it within the next 48 hours.

  2. When you present your gift, you don't need to explain the Quest unless they ask.

  3. Once delivered, submit your Quest via the form in Step 4 here: DragonHeartQuest.com

  4. Pass the spark. Nominate 3 people you think have DragonHearts to take the Quest (in person, by email or social media) and send them to DragonHeartQuest.com.

A DragonHeart Discussion (optional)

If you have time, you might wish to allow people time to share. Here are a few discussion prompts, but feel free to create your own.

  • What kind of recipient feels slightly uncomfortable but right?

  • What are you noticing about this experience that’s surprising or new?

  • What does “small but brave” look like for you?

Keep it simple. The magic is in the creation.

Share your DragonPod hosting experience (After the Event)

Submit your DragonHeart Quest experience via this form or by contacting me. I'd love to hear your story!

You're welcome to host as many DragonPods as you like and take the Quest as many times as you desire. Though please only submit the form once so it's counted towards our milestone of 10,000 people.

Thanks for being a part of this awakening and passing on the spark. 🔥
